  1. DOS Secondary Cache Bug Patch.

  4. PATCH.EXE : This fixes a bug in the buffers secondary cache in DOS
  5.         4.01 by patching the system file on your diskette.
  6.  
  7.             To patch your diskette, do the following:
  8.  
  9.  
  10.         * Boot off the disk to be patched. For example, to patch
  11.           the system on a hard disk drive, boot off the hard disk,
  12.           or to patch the system on a floppy drive, boot from the
  13.           floppy drive.
  14.  
  15.             * Run the patch utility.
  16.  
  17.               USAGE:
  18.  
  19.           Patch.exe <RET>     .. This examines the boot disk and
  20.                     advises the user if the system on
  21.                     the disk needs to be patched or
  22.                     not.

  24.  
  25.           Patch.exe /F <RET> .. This examines the boot disk and
  26.                     patches the DOS system file if
  27.                     necessary.

  30.               NOTE:
  31.           When you are fixing the system files on a floppy the
  32.           patch utility advises you to insert the system floppy
  33.           into the boot drive.

  35.             * Reboot the system.
